Built By Ernie got it’s humble beginnings due to a damaging windstorm in Spokane, Washington, in 2015.
Ernie, a disabled man, figured that even though he didn’t have any money, he still had a dream, and a lot of wood that could be used to make his products.
According to Ernie “My fence blew down and the insurance company said if I didn’t get it fixed my insurance would be canceled”. “I have always enjoyed wood working. So, I thought, since I had to put up a new fence, why throw away the extra pieces of good wood? I could make some of my money back. That’s when I started out by making kids tables, chairs, flower boxes and knick-knack boxes”.
